Math has never been my strong suit in school. I have always had issues understanding the subject, and that could not have been more true than when I took Calculus this past summer. It was a 6 week summer course and I was having serious struggles with it. I had failed nearly all of the tests, and it looked like I was going to fail the class too. I decided that I needed help and started tutoring with Terry. He had helped me do great in my math classes in high school, so I knew he would be able to help me here too. He did more than that though. I went from a failing grade to passing the final with a 94, and pulling a B in the class. Because of him I recovered in a class that I thought I couldn’t recover. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is struggling in a math class.

The search is finally over……..
It took me a very long and exhaustive search to find a tutor that would produce results and help my daughter through her struggles with math successfully.
 
Terry began this journey with us in October of 2015. My daughter went from failing all tests and quizzes, to passing!
It was a long and steady uphill climb, as he worked with her to help fill in some major gaps. I believe, had we found him much earlier, she would have had a much stronger mathematics base, and would have had the grades all along. I am proud to report that she received her highest final semester grade to date, a B+!!!!! That was impressive. My daughter commented how he " taught her in ways that
were easier to understand and that he was very efficient”. 
 
As a student who struggles with ADHD, I found that Terry would work through these sessions diligently with her and with compassion. He began to rebuild her confidence, which was desperately needed and was going to take a long time.

When my son came home this summer with a “must do great" college Calculus course to complete, you know who I immediately called. Again, I am so happy with the results! My son got an “A” on his final exam and gets to keep his scholarship! 

Terry just LOVES math (chocolate and cookies too) and genuinely wants his students to succeed. I am looking forward to another great year ahead, as my daughter begins her pre- calculus course with Terry by her side.

Terry Stickels has been one of the most helpful people I have known throughout my high school career. When I first contacted Mr. Stickels for math help more than four years ago, I had gone from being an average math student to one of the top students in my class in a span of only a couple months. His way of giving me helpful insight yet letting me figure out problems independently was the best way I learned to understand mathematics. As Mr. Stickels continued to make me the best math student possible, I came to appreciate the subject which led me to decide to continue to pursue rigorous math courses in high school.

Not only is Mr. Stickels an amazing math tutor, but he was able to help me achieve a 32 on my ACT. After he had completely evolved my mathematic skills, I once again consulted him for tutoring for the ACT. After many helpful and encouraging tutoring sessions, I was able to move from a 26 to that 30+ ACT score I always coveted. Above all, I believe that his encouraging personality and confidence in my abilities is what ultimately led me to obtaining such a good ACT score.

Terry Stickels offers something a student can never find in a relationship with a high school teacher: a versatile skill set and one on one tutoring time with all his students. My family's move from Seattle to Southlake last year made my husband and I realize that our two sons in 9th and 8th grade were in need of some Algebra help in their new school district.

I found Terry Stickels in a google search and it was probably one of the best things I have done for my kids. Terry immediately established rapport with my kids as a former college football player. But what sold us was his in-depth knowledge of math and enthusiasm to share that with the kids. He is a brilliant mathematician. Last fall, my 9th grader scored a 60 on his math test. Two months later he was scoring As in math. He is currently taking an online Geometry course in which Terry is tutoring him.

A few months ago, my daughters were struggling with their studies in the 8th and 9th grades.  One was actually failing her math class, and the other was barely passing.  We tried to work with the school, but the quality of education in the classroom, or lack thereof, simply made it impossible for our girls to be successful, relying solely upon those resources.

Terry Stickels is an excellent�tutor. He approached the math on the GMAT�with the utmost rigor but also cared about the learning experience and the best way to accomplish this for me. Our daughter had performed inconsistently in math from 3rd to 8th grade.  She would get A’s on some exams, only to be followed by a D on the next exam.  She would always do her homework, but the concepts never seemed to “stick” in her mind for the exam.   By the time she reached 9th grade, she was starting to make comments like, “I’m not any good at Math” or “I’m not smart enough to get A’s  or B’s in Math”.
